Thirty-seventh Post Ever...

WOW! I haven't posted in forever.....so here goes posting...

Now here is where everything gets very very confusing...because I have to finish posting about Disneyland, but I also have to post about Hawaii...hmm...I think everyone will be ok if I just post sort of the hilights of our Hawaii trip, and then finish the Disneyland one like I started it. Ok so about Hawaii first then...

Let's see, we left on Monday morning with Dad to go to Hawaii, because he had to go anyway for work. So we get in the car and drive over to the airport, hop on the plane and get to Hawaii about seven hours after leaving home. Nicole and I were bushed after the five and a half hour plane ride, so we decided just to crash in the hotel. So crash we did. We got up the next morning and Dad took us to Perry's Smorgy (a smorgasboard that goes all day, breakfast, lunch and supper). It was actually really good, as far as resteraunt breakfasts go. Then we sort of browsed Waikiki for a while, then we went to the "Round Table" for lunch (it's a pizza joint). And then we took a bus to Ala Moana Center, which is this really big shopping mall out in Honolulu. After stopping in at the Disney store, eating at Tony Roma's express and waiting for the bus, we went back to Waikiki and walked on the beach for a while, and then we went back to the hotel. (For those of you unfarmiliar with Waikiki and Honolulu, it's kind of like White Rock and South Surrey, Waikiki is just a bunch of tourist-y stuff by the beach, and Hononlulu is the bigger city-er part) Dad had to go to Sydney, and we weren't going with him, so he left and we stayed. The next day us three girls just sort of hung out at the pool, and read, and hung out at the beach, and hung out in the room, and read, and went to ABC and yeah. (ABC is this HUGE chain of stores in Hawaii, there is one on almost every single street corner in Waikiki, and they are basically like a well stocked convenience store) Anyways, the next day mom, nicole and I headed out to the "Polynesian Cultural Center." Polynesia is a whole bunch of islands (aka: Hawaii, Fiji, Somoa, Tonga, New Zealand and such) and on Hawaii there is this culture center that actually supports a whole wack of college students. So going there helped a bunch of people get through school! It was an awesome day! We had so much fun, just walking through and seeing all the things these people did, and the way their cultures were formed! We went to a luau that night (the most authentic luau in all of Hawaii, it even won an award) and we saw this sweet show at the end of the day where all the staff came and performed these really cool dance's from the different islands. And we learned that Hawaii isn't the island with the dance that has the really fast hips and stuff, that Tahiti. Those girls had bobble-hips! Twas nuts the way they could move their hips so fast, and the rest of them could stay stationary! It boggeled the mind. After we got back to the Hotel we had to wait for dad to get back from Sydney, and then the next day we just sort of browsed around the international market that they have in Hawaii and mom got a sweet pearl ring, and I got some awesome capri's that say Hawaii on the bum... heheh. And then we went home that night and we got home at like...eight AM! It was nuts, because we had spent the whole night on the airplane! Anyways, Hawaii is amazing! If you ever have the chance to go there do not pass it up! It was so fun, and really nice and hot, so if you're looking for an amazing tropical destination, Hawaii is the way to go!

I always enjoy reading your rambles about your life. I have never really had a desire to go to Hawaii, but you almost make me want to go. XOXO Auntie Kendra
